SpellBook Finance for MTG sellers

Sell everywhere.
Count it once.

SpellBook lists the same physical card on TCGplayer, eBay, ManaPool, and Shopify. When it sells anywhere, the sale books against your inventory and every sibling listing comes down automatically. No spreadsheets, no double-sells, no 2am delisting.

Every new account starts with a 14 day Seller trial, $49/mo after. Free card scanner included.

The life of one card

Follow one Ragavan from collection to mailbox

Feature lists are easy to write. Here is what SpellBook actually does to a single physical card, timestamp by timestamp. Every step below is live software, not roadmap.

  1. Day 0 · 9:14 AM

It arrives in a $900 collection

You bought 2,400 cards for one price. Acquisition Lots allocates that $900 across every card by fair market value, so this Ragavan, Nimble Pilferer carries $31.20 of real cost basis. Months from now you will still know whether the lot won.

  2. Day 0 · 9:31 AM

    It gets scanned, not typed

The free desktop scanner eats the feeder stack and identifies printing, finish, and condition hints as fast as the hardware feeds. This card lands in inventory with a home: bin B3, tray slot 14. If you'd rather keep your own system, export the raw CSV and walk away; no import required.

  3. Day 0 · 10:02 AM

It goes live on four marketplaces

One publish puts the same physical card on eBay, ManaPool, and your Shopify storefront over their APIs, and stages the TCGplayer update through the Portal Driver, because TCGplayer gives sellers no API. Quantity 1 everywhere, backed by exactly one card in one bin.

  4. Every night

It reprices itself, down to the floor and never through it

Market moves, presets react, and every new price resolves a floor chain before it ships: your per-card override first, the per-SKU floor next, cost plus margin as the backstop. The first rule that matches wins. You made these decisions once; the engine repeats them nightly across every channel, CardTrader included.

  5. Day 12 · 2:07 PM

It sells on eBay. Every other marketplace reacts.

The sale arrives by webhook, books against the physical card, and the sibling listings come down in the same fan-out: ManaPool and Shopify delist via API, TCGplayer gets a staged update. Fifteen minutes later the reconcile sweep double-checks all four channels. That feed at the top of the page is this exact moment.

  6. Day 12 · 4:30 PM

It leaves the shelf in one pull session

Today's orders become a single pull sheet sorted by bin and tray slot, so you walk the shelves once instead of once per order. Short a card? Flag it with a reason and the session keeps honest books. Recount any bin later by re-scanning it.

  7. Day 13 to 16

It crosses the country for the price of a stamp

The label carries a USPS Intelligent Mail barcode, the free encoding USPS publishes as a public spec. Every sortation facility scans it and SpellBook ingests the scans through USPS Informed Visibility. A plain envelope and a Forever stamp, tracked from mint to the destination facility, with a scan paper trail for the day a buyer claims it never arrived. No per-piece tracking fee, ever.

  8. Day 16 · 5:12 PM

The books close themselves, and the buyer becomes a regular

The sale is already reconciled: cost basis, channel fees, and postage booked against real revenue, so P&L is a report instead of a spreadsheet weekend. Inside the envelope, a QR thank-you card opens a live value page for this exact order; one tap saves it to the buyer's free portfolio, with your shop attached to every price update they check from now on.

The spec sheet

What syncs where

Every listing is tied to a physical inventory record with per-channel state, and every channel gets the deepest integration its marketplace allows. Here is the honest per-channel breakdown.

eBay

Sell Feed API
  • Bulk publish thousands of singles in one shot, with duplicate guards and store categories
  • Variation listings, bulk lots, and listing rules from the same stock record
  • Scheduled repricing and daily reconciliation that flags drift before buyers find it

ManaPool

Seller API
  • Orders arrive by webhook plus a 5 minute poll
  • Listing and quantity sync every 5 minutes
  • Daily repricing anchored to the live market

Shopify

Storefront sync
  • Publish your own storefront from the same inventory
  • Orders ingest and delist siblings on every other channel
  • Prices follow the same floors and rules as everywhere else

TCGplayer

Portal Driver
  • TCGplayer offers sellers no API, so SpellBook drives the portal for you
  • Generates your update file, uploads it to TCGplayer's staged buffer, and verifies the result
  • Promotes the update live when safety checks pass, or stops with a clear review state

Scheduled repricing also covers CardTrader. New channels plug into the same lifecycle: publish, reprice, delist, observe sales, reconcile.

The full toolkit

The story above is one card. This runs the whole shop.

Every step of the journey is a tool you can open on its own: intake, pulling, shipping, books, negotiation, and the buyer relationship after the sale.

Intake

Free desktop card scanner

Feed a document scanner a stack of cards and get identified printings with finishes, bins, and cost basis. Mac app is notarized, Windows beta is self contained, and raw CSV export means your data is never hostage.

Fulfillment

Pull sessions and bin walk

Orders become one pull sheet sorted by bin and tray slot. Walk the shelves once, flag shorts with a reason, ship in batches, and audit any bin later with a re-scan recount.

Analytics

Sales analytics and seller books

Revenue, fees, and true profit per channel over any date range. Cost basis follows every card from intake to sale, so P&L is a report, not a spreadsheet weekend.

Buying

Acquisition lots

Buy a collection for one price and SpellBook allocates cost across every card by fair market value. Months later you still know whether that lot actually won.

Negotiation

List discounter

A buyer wants a deal on thirty cards? See the deepest discount that keeps every card above its floor, and what you net after fees, before you answer.

Retention

QR thank-you inserts

Ship a QR code that opens a live value page for that exact order. One tap saves the cards to the buyer's free portfolio, and your shop stays in their daily updates.

Built by the seller who uses it every day

SpellBook Trading runs its entire card business on SpellBook Finance. Every order that ships goes through the same pull sessions, the same repricer, and the same sync you get here. Nothing on this page is a roadmap slide; it is the software behind a working store.

Seller questions, straight answers

Which marketplaces does SpellBook sync?

eBay, ManaPool, and Shopify sync over their APIs: publish, reprice, quantity updates, sale ingestion, and automatic sibling delisting. TCGplayer has no seller API, so SpellBook's Portal Driver generates your update file, uploads it to TCGplayer's staged buffer, verifies the result, and promotes it live when safety checks pass. Scheduled repricing also covers CardTrader.

How does SpellBook prevent overselling?

Every listing is tied to a physical inventory record with per-channel state. When a card sells on one channel, the sale books against that record and sibling listings on the other channels are delisted in the same fan-out. Orders arrive by webhook plus five minute polls, and a fifteen minute reconcile sweep catches anything that slips through.

What does it cost?

A free account includes the portfolio, price data, the inventory dashboard, and the desktop scanner with raw CSV export. The Seller plan is $49/mo or $490/yr and unlocks the full toolkit: channel sync, repricing, pull sessions, analytics, and shipping. Every new account starts with a free 14 day Seller trial, no credit card required.

Do I have to move my inventory into SpellBook?

No. The desktop scanner exports raw CSV you can take anywhere, no import required. When you do import, SpellBook becomes the source of truth: every card carries its bin, cost basis, and per-marketplace listing state, and your data exports back out at any time. Lock-in is not the business model.

Is the USPS tracking really free?

Yes. Labels carry a USPS Intelligent Mail barcode, the same free 65 bar encoding the postal service publishes as a public spec. USPS scans it at each sortation step and SpellBook ingests the scans through USPS Informed Visibility. You pay normal postage, a Forever stamp works, and there is no per piece tracking fee.
