Where SpellBook Finance fits

Available now, no waitlist

SpellBook Finance accepts new users today with no onboarding queue. BinderPOS paused new signups in February 2025. You can start importing inventory and connecting eBay or TCGplayer in minutes.

Multi-marketplace without lock-in

After TCGplayer acquired BinderPOS, sellers reported restrictions on cross-listing to competing marketplaces. SpellBook is platform-independent: eBay, TCGplayer, Card Kingdom buy prices, and EU pricing via Manapool are all first-class.

Finance intelligence beyond inventory

EV rankings across 500+ sealed sets, buyout and price-spike alerts, and cross-market arbitrage signals. If you are sourcing product for resale, these signals are built into the same tool managing your inventory.

Where BinderPOS was stronger (for LGS operators)

Full brick-and-mortar POS. BinderPOS had a complete point-of-sale system including kiosk mode, in-store transactions, walk-in customer management, and receipt handling. SpellBook Finance is not a POS and does not support walk-in retail.

In-store and online buylist. BinderPOS offered integrated buy-list management where customers could submit want lists and receive offers. SpellBook does not have buylist tooling.

Event management. Running Friday Night Magic, pre-releases, or other sanctioned events inside the same system was a BinderPOS capability. SpellBook does not manage events.

Store credit automation. BinderPOS automated store credit balances and redemptions. SpellBook Finance does not track customer store credit.

SpellBook Finance is built for online MTG sellers managing cross-platform inventory. It is not a replacement for full-service LGS operations software.

Frequently asked questions

BinderPOS was acquired by TCGplayer in Q1 2023, which is itself owned by eBay. In February 2025, BinderPOS paused accepting new store customers. Existing stores continue to operate on their current subscriptions, but new signups are not available.
Yes. Existing BinderPOS customers can continue using the platform. The pause applies to new signups only. If you are an existing customer, your service is unaffected.
BinderPOS charges $100/month for the base Binder plan and $150/month for Binder Pro (which adds eBay integration). Both tiers require a Shopify subscription ($39+/month), so total all-in costs run $140-200+/month before TCGplayer commissions at 9.25%. SpellBook Finance has a permanent free tier and $5/month premium.
SpellBook Finance is not a point-of-sale system. It does not handle walk-in transactions, in-store buylists, event management, or store credit. If you need full LGS operations (POS, kiosk, events, buylist, store credit), BinderPOS was purpose-built for that workflow. SpellBook serves the online-selling subset: cross-platform inventory, repricing, and finance intelligence.
SpellBook Finance does not have a POS system, in-store kiosk, event management, buylist management, store credit automation, or walk-in retail workflow. If those are your core needs, SpellBook is not the right replacement.
Yes. SpellBook Finance syncs inventory between eBay and TCGplayer, including live decrements when a card sells on either platform. Unlike BinderPOS post-acquisition, SpellBook is not restricted to TCGplayer-only and supports multi-marketplace pricing across Card Kingdom, CSI, and eBay sold comps.
