Frequently Asked Questions
What does the MTG sell calculator compare?
SpellBook Finance compares expected net proceeds across TCGplayer, eBay, Card Kingdom buylist, Manapool, and dealer buylists. It accounts for marketplace fees, payment processing, and shipping so the take-home number is visible.
What are TCGplayer and eBay fees for MTG cards?
TCGplayer charges 12.75% plus a $0.30 fixed fee per transaction. eBay charges 13.25% plus a $0.30 fixed fee. After shipping, the difference in net proceeds can be significant, especially on lower-value cards where fixed fees weigh more heavily.
Why is the highest sale price not always the best exit?
A higher listing price can lose after fees, shipping, slower sell-through, or buylist spread. The calculator ranks net dollars, not just headline price, so you can choose the cleanest exit for a card or sealed product.
What is the channel-aware repricing preview?
The repricing preview shows what list price SpellBook's repricer would set on each channel. TCGplayer is priced at 0.95x market. eBay uses 0.96x under $20 and 1.12x at or above $20, because buyer willingness on eBay increases relative to TCGplayer at higher price points. This matches the logic in the live cross-channel repricer.
Can I adjust shipping, condition, and finish?
Yes. For cards, set condition and regular or foil finish. For cards and sealed product, choose a shipping method or custom shipping cost so the result matches how you actually plan to sell.
