Track the Signed Agreement Before Funding an Inventory Deal
Private inventory deals should not rely on email archaeology or “money arrived” as proof of which agreement governs. SpellBook Finance records a Signed agreement before funding instructions unlock, and binds that record to the review packet the parties were given.
Review is not signing or payment
Participants can view the review packet and choose Looks good to me. That action is not signing, payment, acceptance, authorization, or legal commitment. Moving money does not sign the agreement. The written agreement is executed outside SpellBook Finance.
What the operator records
After the parties sign outside SpellBook Finance, the operator records four facts: Agreement ID, Signed on, People who signed, and Document fingerprint. The browser calculates the Document fingerprint locally. The signed file is not uploaded or stored.
The record is bound to the exact review packet version and content. If the terms change, the old packet is no longer the governing packet. The operator must issue a new packet and record a new Signed agreement for those changed terms.
Participants receive a read-only summary
Participants see a read-only summary of the Signed agreement, including the Agreement ID, Signed on date, People who signed, and Document fingerprint, alongside the packet version and trust boundary. Operator recorded means the operator entered the evidence. It is not independent provider verification.
Funding stays blocked until the evidence is ready
Funding instructions remain blocked until the current Signed agreement evidence is complete and participant access is ready for the current packet. A stale packet, incomplete evidence, or incomplete participant access keeps the deal at the appropriate recovery step. This central gate protects the distinction between reviewing terms and being ready to fund.
What V1 does not do
V1 does not provide DocuSign or other provider verification, webhooks, completed-document retrieval, encrypted document custody, upload, or download. SpellBook Finance does not claim to sign the agreement, verify signatures independently, store or see the signed file, move money, or provide custody. Those capabilities remain roadmap work under issue #8530.
Signed agreement tracking gives a private inventory deal one packet-bound operating record before funding instructions unlock, while keeping signing and money movement at their real external boundaries.
